At the Society for Marine Mammals (SMM) biannual conference, I had the incredible opportunity to present my research as part of a workshop focused on using AI to track marine mammals. To further share my work, I had initially planned to show a video of my presentation from the conference, as well as display the poster I had created for the event. The original video would have provided a detailed look at the presentation I delivered in person, including the key findings and methodologies from my research.
However, since I don’t yet have access to the video recording from the conference, I decided to create an at-home version to share in the meantime. In this video, I walked through my slides and explained the main points of my presentation, replicating what I discussed during the workshop. While it’s not the same as being able to show the live presentation, I believe this alternative provides a clear and engaging overview of my work. (The video was to large for this site, so here’s a link through drive: Link)
In addition to the video, I’ve also included my poster from the conference. The poster offers a visual summary of my research, including how I utilized visual AI and drone photos to monitor marine mammals, as well as the broader implications of this work for conservation efforts. I hope both the video and poster will effectively convey the essence of my project and inspire others interested in similar areas of research.
The thumbnail of this post has some of the text parts of my poster; however for a higher quality image, here’s a link to my poster. The design is based on a given format. (Link to video about it. See around 14 min)
